About Us
Thanks for visiting my website. My name is Richard Pastenes, I reside in Portland, Oregon with my wife Barbara and chihuahua Chico. I was born in the beautiful south American country of Chile, where I first discovered my passion for photography. I followed through with my degree in electronic engineering, even though I always felt drawn towards the arts. Any free time I had during college I spent walking around taking pictures of people and places. It quickly became a hobby that I was very proud of and has grown from that into my true passion. I am mostly self-taught but I did work in a portrait studio when I lived in Roseville, CA. I enjoy shooting just as much as I love editing and creating new and distinct images. I consider myself a creative perfectionist who feels so blessed to be able to share my art with others. Since discovering this amazing world of photography, I’ve realized that I want to create beautiful and appealing images and capture special moments so they can be experienced all over again.
With time I upgraded my photo gear and my beloved wife Barbara became a very important part of what started as a hobby. She is my assistant and shares my interest in photography. We bounce ideas off of each other and put 100% into our photography.
