Jennifer’s Portrait

Jennifer is one of my favorites co-workers.  She is our company’s training manager and provides the best learning experience ever.  You should check her blog or follow her on twitter to get some cool info about elearning.

She asked me a few months ago to photograph her and make a black and white portrait of her which I gladly did.  During one of our breaks at work we took a few shots.  I selected this shot because you can see her natural smile (I probably said a dorky joke to make her smile) and also because the light on her eyes makes her face the absolute center of the frame.

I’m pretty sure she liked the final product because she uses it as profile photo for everything!  Right Jennifer?

Veranda’s Quinceanera
I never knew what a quinceanera was until I got hired to shoot Veranda’s quinceanera. A quinceanera is a Mexican tradition where the 15th birthday of a girl is celebrated differently from any other birthday, as it marks the transition from childhood to young womanhood.
The celebration is pretty much the same as a wedding, but without the groom! There is the dress, the best friends that would be like the maid of honor/best man in a wedding, reception, cake, dance, limo, etc. Check the gallery to see more shots of this beautiful quincenera celebration.

Tulip Festival
The Tulip Festival is open every year, between March and May in Woodburn, OR.  Flowers, I think, are one of the most common photography subjects due to their beauty and photogenic nature.  It’s relatively easy to get a nice shot of one or two flowers, but when you have thousands of them, the creative part of your brain goes crazy!  Trying to obtain an interesting and original composition turns into a challenge.  Check the gallery for more shots of these beautiful flowers or you can also check the iPhoneography gallery to view more photos from the Tulip Fest.

Seattle
On my first visit to Seattle about a year ago, I had to go to all the touristy spots and of course I couldn’t miss the famous Space Needle. The view from there is spectacular and we were lucky to have a beautiful sunset with a big round yellow moon.  I didn’t have my tripod so I used the space needle’s metallic railing to hold my camera steady in order to get some long exposure shots.  Check out the gallery for more Seattle cityscape shots.

Sara & Jeremy’s Wedding
Our close friends Sara & Jeremy had a beautiful wedding and reception at the Tipi Village Retreat in Marcola, OR.  The place was awesome and we were lucky to be part of such memorable event.  Barbara was part of the wedding and my being a guest didn’t stop me from pulling out my camera to take a few pictures.  Even though these are not the “official” wedding pictures, check them out on this gallery.
